Of course it was the West Ham way. Yeh we had the defend and let the best team in the country have a lot of the ball, but when we had the ball, first half in particular, we played proper football and attacked. The 2nd had was touch, but it was always going to be, and we still had the odd chance from positive attacking play.
People thought Slav would be naive, but he has us as good defensively as Allardyce did, but with something extra.
In some ways, the two home defeats were a real learning curve, and dare I say, a blessing in disguise.
Absolutely delighted.

Fantastic performance today, but, with 28% possession, it was hardly any West Ham way. A real, blood and guts attitude and a terrific result. IRONSSSSSSS

Not trying to be negative as it was a impressive performance amd more importantly a win BUT looking at the possession stats after the match CAN we go through a whole season playing counter attacking football. If we can, and continue to pick up the wins, fine but surly there has to come a time when we start dominating possession.

I could quite easily have sat there and just watched SLAV on the touchline last night. Absolute PASSION throughout the whole game.

Without wanting to get over-excited was thinking along similar lines.
It was refreshing that with 5 minutes left and 2-0 up we put on another forward. Last season it would have been another defender.

jack yeah like the second half of last season. The pundit twats even said Allardyce's system was about 'winning' it wasn't it was shit and we didn't. This is about winning. You don't score you don't win.

Clumsy expression on my part but what I was trying to say is that Slav is introducing a new style with new players, he is adapting an ingrained mindset.
I see him retaining the best of Sam and has a sprinkle of stardust in that team that he is encouraging to shine.
My major point is the squad, Noble has upped his game as an example, most impressive for me is his preparedness to use pups, Lanzini deserved his place tonight. But they know behind them are some really good players poised like fucking hawks to get on.
Never in my time have we had such depth, better players briefly perhaps but not squad, and I am loving it.

I've really warmed to Bilic & love the style of football he's starting to get us to produce. There were some lovely moves tonight, clever, fast, counter attacking
A lot of the football in the BFS tenure was awful admittedly, but it served a purpose & contrary to what the majority might say, I believe it has made us stronger, certainly in defending

Best start in 7 years. Moses, Payet, Noble, all of them. I'll tell you what - how many Croatian forwards were massive blokes - Boksic, et al were all big fellas but they were skilled. Watch Slaven transform Carroll into a skillful centre forward. He'll have a twilight career that will include England with Slav.
